Shhhh!
January 26, 2008 by Veronica Mitchell
I am hiding in the study, trying to eat a bowl of ice cream. I bought a half-gallon of Edy’s Cookies-n-cream several days ago, but the children and husband have eaten almost all of it and I have had none. There is just enough left for me to have a bowl, so I snuck it up here while the children are downstairs watching a movie.
Don’t tell. I’ll eat fast.

Slow down, you’ll get indigestion or brain freeze!
Cheers
heh heh
My husband and I often don’t pull out the ‘real’ treats until after the wee ones are in bed for this reason.
Wouldn’t say a word. Enjoy your ice cream!
When we used to try that when the kids were little, they ALWAYS knew! We said they had snack radar installed at birth.
I buy cheap ice cream to feed to the kids.
Edy’s is reserved for me.
(Hope you made it to the bottom of the bowl and were able to enjoy every last spoonful. Without brain freeze.)
I eat more food on the sly than I would care to admit.
Just this morning I put a cookie in the pocket of my robe and hid out in the laundry room. I don’t think that would work as well with ice cream.
I hate sharing my special treats. When they were little, the kids used to try to guilt trip me. “God likes it when we share,” they would tell me. (A line from Veggie Tales–be warned!) I would give them long lectures about teeth decay and how much more sugar I needed as a large person compared to their tiny bodies, but they were never very convinced.
Your method is probably better.
Also, teach Az not to share good ice-cream with the kids.
It’s pathetic, what we moms are driven to, isn’t it?
this is a frequent habit of mine — which is probably one of the many reasons I have so much weight to lose. But, it’s even better to go off to run an errand and get ice cream and eat it in the car (all by yourself) listening to some great music! Try it sometime, you’ll be so rejuvenated!
Edy’s C&C is my absolute favorite ice cream. All I can say is, if the half gallon lasted several days, you have much stronger will power than I.
(Also, thanks for your comment about sermons. I tried to respond . . . not sure I cleared anything up. In reference to another post of yours, wise choice steering clear of controversy. I usually am unable to avoid controversy, instead going so far over the top that people don’t take me seriously.)
Anyway, I really appreciate your thoughts (and your taste in ice cream). Thanks!
I buy rum raisin when I NEED to have ice cream in the house, because no one else will touch it.
