What would blogging be like if I had not become a regular reader of Frog and Toad Are Still Friends? Lonelier, I think.
Anyway, Beck is allowing her commenters to ask her any random question they like, and I thought I would try the same. It is the middle of winter, I am spending way too much time commuting this week, and I am kinda outta ideas (did you like how I used two slangy words in a row there? Kinda? Outta? See? Definitely outta ideas.)
So ask away. Stuff about me, stuff about Az the Inscrutable, all my affected opinions about stuff that’s none of my business. Whatever.
I’ll start with my own question of me:
Veronica, you clearly are an amazing blogger. Why do you think you are not more popular?
Sincerely, anonymous
Dear objective and not in the least sycophantic, anonymous commenter,
I believe it is a conspiracy by The Man to keep down the privileged, middle-class, white housewives of the world.
In college I failed Communication Arts 323: Controlling the Masses through the Internet.
My brilliance is too blinding to gaze at directly.
My blog is really just okay.

Can I ask two? (Shoot! Now it’s three!)
What is your favorite fiction book series?
What chore do you hate doing?
Your blog is more than just ok. I really enjoy reading it. My question is : What are your must read blogs? Which ones do you pick first to read when your Google Reader is full?
How did you come to choose the pseudonym Veronica Mitchell?
Wow – You are one of my favorite blogs, I just rarely comment due to either my own crazy life or the fact that if I don’t comment I can read more. Also, it seems like lots of bloggers are having the January writing blues.
My questions is – If you could change something about yourself (as a person) what would it be?
Much more than okay!!! You are my favorite blogger. More than Beck. More than Antique Mommy. More than James Lileks, even!
I have many questions, but I’ll try not to let my enthusiasm get out of control.
1) What do you think of N.T. Wright?
2) Has motherhood changed your view of the body, particularly with respect to its theological significance? If so, how?
3) What is your most cherished dream for your daughters?
You’re awesome and one of my favorites, for certain.
Okay, here’s your question: I want to read some good theological books this winter but everything I pick up is a) boring or b) dumb. Knock my socks off, oh smart one! Recommend some books for me!
Your blog is more than okay. Unfortunately, most of the more than okay blogs are not the ones that rise to the top. Why that is, I have no idea.
I have no question. Just wanted to put my .02 in on that point.
You are most certainly more than just “OK” I LOVE this blog. My question is what do you see yourself doing in 15 years?
My university actually has a class on blogging. It was only offered the last year I was there, and my required classes conflicted with it, but really, I wonder how many weeks they spend on the Dooce effect.
Annnyways, what are some of your biggest pet peeves?
Oh, and because someone else asked it on the Weaning post… how’s baby #4 coming along?
Which of your theological beliefs is one you’d be most likely to avoid mentioning at church?
i have a question…what do you think is inside the briefcase in pulp fiction?
oh, and also, if a bird had only one wing, would it fly in circles???
ahahahaha
How, specifically, has blogging been a good experience for you?
Baby #4? Did I miss something?
What’s the top secret career? Where did the name “Az” come from? Is his real name Archie, or did Archie end up with Betty? How’s school going? Are you getting in trouble for passing notes? What denomination church do you go to? What color is your bath rug?
If I think of any questions, I’ll get back to you.
Your blog is so much better than just okay! It’s an addiction for me! Like expensive chocolate, except you make me laugh instead of making me fat.
What are your favorite historical events/eras to read about?
What kinds of music are your favorites? Any styles you really despise?
Umm, WRONG. Your blog is brilliant.
With which woman in the Bible do you most identify, and why?
It is the brightness one. I always slip on my Serengetis before reading your blog.
What are you studying in school? (Ha! I told you I’d badger you about this.)
How tall is Az?
What is your favorite game?
I love this question/answer thing. I am tempted to do it myself but I am afraid all I will hear in response is crickets and I can’t take that kind of rejection. I’m looking forward to all your answers!
What type of crackers? Ritz? Saltine? Christmas?
Blog not okay. Blog great. Some of us just slower than Veronica Mitchell. Not know how leave worthy comments for clever Veronica to read.
What is the subject area of your dissertation? You don’t have to be very specific. Heck, it’s your blog. You don’t have to answer at all. As a matter of fact, just ignore this. I’m learning to deal with rejection. Really. I am.
(I’m just asking because my husband is ABD as of December 2007. Chasing that Ph.D. rainbow is what we’re all about here.)
Veronica, What are your favorite and least favorite vegetables? Does that count as two? Sorry, but I’m trying to find someone who really truly likes brussels sprouts.
Karen
ps. I do.

How do you take your coffee? Why didn’t you ever visit me in Mauritania? If nobody comments on your blog, does it really exist? Would you like fries with that?
So, if it’s not too late, here are my questions:
What is your favorite point-size for fonts? Are you a 10 pt kind of girl, or do you fancy 12 pt? Surely not 14 pt.
Just how bad ARE your eyes and have you seen someone about it?
What was your favorite variety of “Archie” comic? I preferred a nice, thick “Betty & Veronica Double Digest.”
How old were you when your mother first told you that “Archie” comics were like junk food for your brain and maybe, MAYBE, you should be spending your money on real books with IDEAS?
Lastly, just how Inscrutable is Az, and would he care for an adult-man playdate with Byron the Bewildering?
