Some days I think we have learned everything there is to know about each other, and our life together is unremarkable comfort, solid but undramatic.

Other days, rare ones, something, a trick of the light or his stance or the way he holds our daughter, catches me, and suddenly, he is 31-years-old again, the tall, black-bearded stranger with the broad shoulders and intense gaze.

He throws off sparks. He brings the color to the room.

So familiar, so comfortable, but still a stranger, just out of reach and worthy of pursuit. My own Teumessian fox.

Happy birthday to your husband!
Hallmark cannot compete.
If it is wrong to begin the new year with a promise to plagiarize, then so be it. ‘Cause I’m planning to use most of this for my husband’s upcoming 40th b’day. (It’ll just be in a note. I wasn’t planning to do works cited or anything. Do you mind?)
Happy Birthday and Happy New Year!
Good grief, that was a romantic post!
Happy birthday to him.
I know EXACTLY what you mean. Just recently, I noticed how sexy my husband’s arm looked with the dark hair and his manly watch. I couldn’t exactly explain why, all of a sudden, I thought his arm and watch looked sexy. This is after 30 years together. I’m just noticing his arm. Kind of crazy.
Is it just me, or are bearded men generally kinder and wiser than most others?
Also, LOVE the baby toes. How do you keep from nomming them right off?
Yowza. That was beautiful. And romantic. And kind of sexy.
Happy birthday to Az the Husband!
These photos are like your own personal constellations: your own steps forever frozen in time. I love it when I step outside of myself and am able to view my husband like a new lover. Something I always found very, very hard to do, by the way, when my babies really were babies and I was perpetually running low on sleep. So kudos to you, and happy birthday to your husband.
Happy birthday Az the Husband!
I love this. Love the first picture. Happy Birthday AZ!
So perfectly beautiful.
Happy Birthday, Az.
Wow, nice photos. I have to admit when I saw the first one I thought it was a painting…..
