Seven Random Reasons Why I Don’t Have a New Post Today
November 27, 2007 by Veronica Mitchell
- I can’t find a way to slip the word “apophatic” into the post I’m working on without you suspecting that I’m just showing off.
- JellyBean and Sweetpea have decided to check their own blogs as I check mine. This involves typing over my fingers and declaring, “Look, Mama! I’m doing it, too!” from JellyBean, and from two-year-old Sweetpea: “I’m checking my bwog.”
- The children have been playing in the study and there are crumbs sticking to my bare feet this very minute and I only have 21 days to get the place shiny enough for BooMama’s house tour.
- The baby is refusing her supplemental formula and getting skinnier and worry is bleaching all the color from my life.
- The in-laws visited for Thanksgiving and though it was a lovely visit, between them and Az the Husband’s work schedule, it has been TEN DAYS since I have had time alone. You other introverts know how absolutely deadly that is to peace of mind and creativity.
- Someone has put House MD Season 4 on YouTube.
- Kelly at Love Well tagged me for a Seven Random Things meme, and it was easier than writing something fascinating.

I could hug you! House on YouTube! Can’t get it here, now I get to see it! THank you! …
A new post tomorrow, right?

I wish I didn’t know how you feel about 4, but I do. I hope she starts to take to the formula.
I’d love to read those girls “bwogs.” That’s very funny. I have been through the haze of mothering a skinny baby and it is not fun. I hope you find whatever trick will turn it around for you and her.
I’ve been there on the skinny baby front. I hope she adjusts to the formula for you soon.
Oh, I’ve had a skinny baby, too. Take that bottle, Poppyseed!
I totally relate to the trials of an introvert mom. Love the kids, want to be with them–and need some private time!
Look at you — killing about three birds with one stone.
I hereby pronounce you Queen Multi-Task.
(And let me just say — I’m an extrovert, and 10 days with no time alone can start to make me loopy. Give King Az the reigns tonight, and get thee to a Starbucks — to order a medium coffee, of course.)
i’m catching up on some blog reading and your last half dozen posts are cracking me up!
(I refuse to say “grande” and “venti” too.)
Blessings,
K
Oh, the Poppyseed. I’m worried for you.
Here’s hoping you get some time alone soon!
I think you should post pictures WITH the crumbs for the tour of homes. It will make everyone else feel normal that they have crumbs stuck to their own feet.
I’ll pray for Poppyseed and for your peace of mind. I wish you time alone soon!
On Thanksgiving, I sent my husband and child to his parent’s house four hours before I presented myself there. I used the not-untrue excuse that I had baking to do and they only had one oven, but really I wanted some time alone.
Apophatic was very nicely used.
