that it was possible to cut the inside of your mouth with a tortilla chip? To cut it so badly that it swells? Swells so much that it isn’t until hours later, when the swelling goes down, that you realize there was a tiny piece of chip STILL IN THERE?
Just doing my part to keep the world informed.

Sounds exactly like something I would have done. It’s nice to know that there is at least two of us. Except that I would have pressed on through the pain and eaten the rest of the bag of chips.
Should that is be an are?
Yes, I do. I did it when I was a kid. I feel so sorry for you. If it makes you feel any better, I bit the inside of my cheek a number of days ago, quite badly. It is now healing, quite slowly and painfully. I can eat only small, easily chewable, non-spicy, non-acidic things.
No, that does not include tortilla chips.
YES! I’ve done that before and OH MY WORD it hurts.
That is most unfortunate. I am the queen of biting my lip while chewing and my lips always swells and it hurts quite a bit. Coincidentally, I was also going to write a post today entitled “Did you know.” I’m totally serious. The only reason I didn’t was because my computer was acting up. My “Did you know” would have continued on to say “that if your son puts a battery operated toy helicopter in your hair, you will have no choice but to cut your hair to get it out.”
I don’t think it’s too noticeable, but I was upset nonetheless.
Yikes. Thanks for the warning. And how do you get it out? (or do I just cross that bridge when I come to it?)
Your post is funny, and so are the comments.
Yes, unfortunately I know this pain, also the hot pizza pain…the one where I take a huge bite of just out of the oven pizza and burn the roof of my mouth to blisters…not having learned my lesson, I tend to do this often.
I actually have done this. It really sucks and then there’s the emotional pain of having been injured by a TORTILLA CHIP. Oh tortilla chips: why are you so deadly and yet so delicious?
I have DONE THIS. Ouch. And then the salt, compounding the problem. So sorry.
