Three-year-old JellyBean is fascinated with letters and writing. She likes to go over the alphabet on websites like Poisson Rouge, Starfall and Bembo’s Zoo (hat tip to Bub and Pie and her commenters for the first two). She also asks me almost every day to write out the names of our family and draw pictures of us.
I am not an artist. I stick with stick figures, since they are at least comprehensible. This time when she asked me to draw us, I drew JellyBean in her favorite dress, Sweetpea wearing her diaper, and myself holding, I explained, the two sippy cups my girls kept forgetting to carry themselves.
JellyBean scrutinized the picture for two seconds before pointing at one of the sippy cups. “That one’s MINE!” she said.

That’s some excellent art. And your daughter obviously has a brilliant eye for possessions.
But mainly I’m mostly just insanely happy for TWO NEW WEBSITES FOR THE BOY! It’s raining out today and it was promising to be sort of a miserable day. Yay.
Oh that is so funny! And what a great picture of you! You are truly an artist and your use of barely veiled sarcasm in carrying their cups is genius.
As Homer Simpson says, “It’s funny cuz it’s TRUE!” I can so see my son Simon saying something like that!!
Thanks for passing on the web sites. Bookmarking now!
let me guess, she claimed the larger one?
Funny funny. If they were ours, my three-year-old would want the blue one.
Ha ha! I like that you categorized the post under Manners.
LOL!
My girls will argue about anything, even cartoon sippy cups.
Oh, that’s PERFECT. Hilarious.
